Hello, my wonderful friend,

How are you today? I hope things are going well. I just wanted to let you know that you are on my mind, as you always are, and remind you how deeply you are loved.

Did you see the beautiful sunrise this morning? I painted it for you to help start your day on a good foot. This evening, take a look at the sunset. It’s my way of saying, good night my friend, and sleep well because I’ll be watching over you. If it’s cloudy, don’t worry, I’ll still be there.

Just the other day, I passed by that raging river we crossed together a while back. It’s so calm and peaceful there now. It made me want to sit in the grass with you and talk, laugh and sing our favorite song at the top of our lungs. But, I know you’re busy right now. When I walked in your shoes, there were always a million things that needed to be done. Keeping those apostles in line was enough to drive anyone crazy! But, whenever you need to rest, remember that I’m always here with a couple of sandwiches and a thermos of wine.

Things are great here. My Father isn’t planning on retiring any time soon. Just last week, someone remarked that he never seems to age. He loves creating, completing and creating again and is considering a new galaxy soon or maybe a dragonfly. The Holy Spirit is on the move, always on joyous fire about everything and urging people to become their true selves. My mother is well, tending her rose garden and making sure everyone is taken care of. She never accepts any credit, like a lot of moms out there. She just made a batch of delicious chocolate chip cookies and would love to send you some.

Autumn is one of my favorite seasons. The other day, I saw you pick up a yellow-red leaf that had fallen from a tree and you marvelled at its beauty. I wish you could see yourself from my perspective, because I see the most amazing, one-of-a-kind creation in the world – you. I love you so much!

That time when you were fighting back tears and felt completely overwhelmed by how unfair and sometimes cruel life can be, I was right there with you in the dark. I honestly know how it feels. And all those bad things happening in the world can be pretty overwhelming too. I’d love to explain everything and will one day, but for now, just try to trust me, ok?

It breaks my heart when you pull away because you feel you don’t deserve my love or you’ve messed up somehow. Nothing you can do can make me love you less!

If you ever doubt how deeply I love you, just look at the cross. That wasn’t some kind of theological transaction, it was an act of love. I did it because I am completely consumed by love for you. Yes, you! Please don’t say you are unworthy, we’ve been over and over that before. People tell you crazy things sometimes, don’t listen to them. You’re worth it and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

This afternoon, I’m thinking about collecting seashells at that beach we love and afterward going to our favorite restaurant, you know the one. What are you up to this week? I hope you have something fun planned.
